Try this delicious Thermomix waffles recipe that is so simple to make and ideal for breakfast or a nice afternoon snack. It is ready in 30 seconds. Waffles are the most satisfying afternoon snack and if you feel like a bit of indulgence, they make the perfect guilty pleasure. "Wollen wir Waffeln machen?" (Sophia's brothers) Waffles were a very popular Sunday afternoon tea time snack in my family. I remember my brothers coming over to the kitchen on a Sunday afternoon, slightly tired from the night before. They would always come to me with that funny voice saying "do we want to make waffles?", indicating that I should make the waffles nicely for them. They loved it when their little sister looked after them. Usually, I would prepare the batter and my brothers would lay the table nicely. It was such quality family bonding time and I miss these days today. Luckily, Jesse adores waffles, so we keep up some of the old family tradition and make waffles on a Sunday. These Thermomix Waffles are also amazing for breakfast and you have endless possibilities in terms of toppings. My favourite is Nutella and strawberry jam. Very sweet but just so nice. Sometimes you have to be unhealthy, it feels so good. Thermomix waffles are so simple to prepare and if you prefer them savoury, simply leave out the sugar and vanilla extract and replace with grated cheese and ham. They store well for a day and can be toasted or reheated in the oven easily. Great for a little dessert on the go.

Thermomix waffles:

  • 200 g butter
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 300 g plain flour
  • 250 ml whole milk

  • icing sugar to dust
  • Nutella or jam to serve

  1. Place all the ingredients in the Thermomix mixing bowl and combine until smooth on setting 30 Sec./ Speed 4. If the mixture is s bit too thick, add a bit of milk until the consistency is similar to very thick double cream.
  2. If you don't have a Thermomix, place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and combine, using an electric whisk, until smooth. If the mixture is s bit too thick, add a bit of milk until the consistency is similar to very thick double cream.
  3. Place a soup ladle full on a hot waffle iron and bake until nicely golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter. Dust with icing sugar and serve with Nutella or jam. Enjoy!
